About

A lawyer who explains the paper before you sign it

Ikeh Jennifer Kamsi, Principal Counsel. I am a corporate and property lawyer based in Abuja, and I founded Plotrise Consult to give clients straightforward advice on land, business and compliance matters.

I work with people who want to understand where they stand: what they are buying, what they are signing and what could go wrong. You get a plain explanation of the risks and a written record of the advice.

How it works

From first message to completed matter

  1. Consultation

Tell us what you are trying to do and share any documents you already hold.

  2. Review

We check the documents and facts, then explain the risks and your options in plain terms.

  3. Action

We draft, negotiate, verify or register, depending on the matter, and keep you updated.

  4. Completion

You receive the final documents and a clear note of anything that needs your attention later.

Questions

What clients usually ask first

Not here? Send us your question through the contact form.

Why should I verify land before I buy it?

A seller can hold a document that looks genuine and still not own the land, or the land may be subject to a mortgage, a dispute or a government claim. Verification checks the history and status of the title before you commit funds.

What documents should I have ready for a consultation?

Bring whatever you have: the allocation letter or Certificate of Occupancy, survey plan, receipts, existing agreements and the seller's details. If you have nothing yet, we can still start with the questions you need to ask.

Do I need a lawyer to register a company?

You can register without one, but the shareholding structure, the constitution and the director roles affect you for years. A lawyer helps you set these up correctly and keep them compliant.

Do you act for people who are not in Abuja?

Yes. Many clients live abroad or in other states and buy or invest in Abuja. We can handle consultations by phone or video and exchange documents electronically.

How are fees worked out?

Fees depend on the type and size of the matter. After the first consultation we explain the scope of work and the fee before you decide to proceed.

Is my information kept confidential?

Yes. What you tell us about your matter is treated as confidential in line with our professional duties as lawyers.
